I knew as soon as I saw the photos of this venue that it was going to be the perfect fit for my husband's 40th birthday party. (And it was.) The speakeasy vibe was on point. Kara did an incredible job decorating it herself. The interior is gorgeous with the emerald crushed velvet couches, feathers, and twinkle lighting. We didn't have to decorate at all other than bringing in a few personal touches for our party, so that was a great advantage. The restaurant was also lovely and beautifully decorated for other events that were going on that same evening. TK (owner) and Kara were very accommodating and wide open to ideas to make the evening special. TK even gifted us and our guests free comedy show passes. The parking was ideal (open lot and valet available). The staff was friendly. Great food menu, tiered options for different price points, and good bar selection.
The speakeasy didn't have its own dedicated A/C system, so the space got very warm, very fast. Because there were other events going on at the same time that evening, the staff was stretched thin, and it was difficult to get things taken care of right away. The space was left pretty dirty from the event before us and I had to request some cleaning, which took place while guests were still arriving. There was some confusion between staff, hostess, etc. on what all was included in our event (headcount, bar arrangements, etc.) which created a lot of back-and-forth during the event. Some things we'd requested in advance weren't out (like dessert plates/cutlery) and the kitchen ran out of containers for us to take home remaining food items, which we had to McGyver and package ourselves. I don't think the elevator worked, either, which would have been helpful for a couple of our guests. We all worked together to take care of these details on the spot, but some of these things felt like they could have been avoided.
