AGM Venues Hire Guide

When it comes to organising an AGM, the devil is in the detail. Delivering a successful AGM requires that you start planning early – this can be up to one year in advance for some major corporations. An AGM allows members to hear reports about the year’s achievements and work, as well as providing an opportunity to elect the committee for the next year and make any changes to the constitution. Remember that the AGM is one of the most significant events on the business calendar and can be used to effectively engage and communicate with key stakeholders, so make sure it goes off without a hitch by planning with purpose.

Which areas of London are best for hiring a venue for an AGM?

London has so many incredible options for hiring a venue for an AGM, from traditional spaces to trendy pop-ups to cosy private rooms. Here are some of the best areas for finding the perfect AGM venue in London:

  • The City. This area is a truly classic choice, with lots of well-known London restaurants with private rooms that can easily be transformed into an AGM venue (though there are also plenty of more modern options). It’s also one of the most expensive parts of London in terms of hire costs, but if you want a  classic venue that can accommodate either a few or several hundred people then it’s a good place to start.
  • Mayfair. There are many great options here, including conference centres and private rooms in hotels. You’re likely to find plenty of trendy and modern spaces here, including some fun and quirky private rooms. It’s also possible to hire spaces here at a more reasonable price than in the City. So if you want something that’s a bit more modern, Mayfair is definitely worth considering.
  • Canary Wharf. This area features loads of large, high-tech venues that would be perfect for an AGM, including modern boardrooms and auditoriums. You’re likely to find more upscale and stylish venues here, as well as a lot of interesting and unique spaces that are perfect for an AGM if you want something with a more futuristic look than traditional conference centres.

What kind of AGM venues can I find in London?

There are many options for venues for your annual general meeting in London, whether you're looking for a traditional space or something more unconventional. If you want to go above and beyond, consider holding it at one of London’s top hotel conference venues. Some hotels even offer accommodation and food packages, which can save you a lot of money if you plan to host a large group. On the other hand, if you're looking for something more intimate, then consider hiring out one of the many function rooms in London. There are plenty of options for both small and large groups, so you won't have trouble finding somewhere suitable. You can also find a great range of museums and theatres that can be hired out for corporate events. Many of these venues are more unusual than the average conference centre, so they can make your meeting a lot more memorable.

Booked The Speakeasy at The Gobpsy
We held a small work function here last minute because our originally booked venue ended up closing, and I'm really glad we did. The speakeasy style bar is hiding under a barbershop and cocktails were to an incredibly high standard! Staff were friendly and more than accommodating of our last minute stress booking. We ended up staying after our planned time and widening our circle to others who'd arrived. Really great vibes. Thanks so much.

The staff were really helpful and accommodating and the food was excellent. It was great to have our own private space but also have access to the main bar.

Honestly, absolutely nothing negative about our event. Steve was excellent to work with, supported my ideas, gave his own that matched our vision, the day went absolutely fantastically with good reports from all of our guests. Could not recommend them more.

Booked The Store Street Room at One Alfred Place
The room was light and airy and everything was laid out well. The initial help from Chris was really good in getting the Flip charts and room set up. The refreshments were good and well laid out. It was also great that we could have access to the room quite early.

Booked Festival Garden at Aeronaut
Venue is perfect for a summer party - garden space is ace, and could go into the pub until closing to extend the night a bit Entertainment options were great, and EveryGameshow was a strong choice! Food was fantastic, as were the catering staff. Plenty of it too Appreciated the kitchen's effort to bring down fries despite lack of equipment Minimum spend option was very accessible, unlike a number of competitors Token system & wristbands being provided was a very nice touch

Booked The Fishing Smack at Boathouse Studios, Barking
Was a great space for what we were doing. Easy Access to the bar next door was lovely and allowed for people to come and go, have a drink etc and chat outside. The inside space was nice for everyone to gather and sit around and talk as well as being good value for money. The location beside the river was very nice and gave a very English flair to it.
