If you’re looking for per person packages, expect prices to range between £55 and £135. Some venues also offer the option of a minimum spend, and expect these to start at around £510. When searching for small conference venues in London, start your search in the City of London. The historical financial centre is home to many of the city’s most prestigious venues. If you're looking for a modern space, check out Canary Wharf. The area is also close to London City Airport, which might be convenient if you have guests arriving by plane. If you would prefer more historical venues, they can be found in Westminster. For more affordable options, browse Hounslow and Wandsworth, where the prices are lower, but you will still receive plenty of amenities and attractions.

Each venue can have different facilities available, so it’s always best to talk to the venue manager about what’s available in the venue you’re interested in. However, most venues will have Wi-Fi, flatscreen TV, a projector, a whiteboard, a flipchart, an A/V system, and conference call facilities. Some venues can have a kitchenette or a breakout space with sofas.

Your Guide to Hiring Small Conference Venues in London

It always starts the same way. You have a conference to plan, a vision in mind, and suddenly, you're deep in a rabbit hole of venue tabs, trying to find a spot that’s just the right size, in the right location, with the right vibe. Sound familiar?

In London, finding a small conference venue isn’t the hard part, finding the one that actually works is. You want the kind of space that doesn’t just tick boxes but makes your guests say, “This is cool,” the second they walk in.

Where to Host Your Small Conference in London

What to Think About When Booking a Small Conference Venue

  • Location & Transport
Make it easy for your guests to get there. Check for nearby tube stations and parking options. If you're expecting guests with accessibility needs, double-check wheelchair access, lifts, and accessible toilets.
  • Equipment & Setup
Don’t assume the venue has everything. Ask about screens, projectors, flipcharts, and Wi-Fi. If you're planning to bring your own, make a checklist so nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Sustainability
More planners are going green. Try reusable name badges, recycled paper notepads, and eco-conscious catering.
  • Catering
Whatever you're serving, make sure you’ve got dietary needs covered. Some venues handle catering in-house, others will let you bring your own. Either way, don’t treat the food as an afterthought.

How to Make the Most of a Small Space

Working with a smaller venue shouldn't limit your event, it just means being smart with layout, furniture, and flow. Here’s how to make compact spaces work harder for your conference:

  • Choose the Right Layout for Your Format

Start with your event’s goal. Want to fit as many people as possible for a talk? Go with Theatre Style with rows of chairs facing the front. A U-Shape layout encourages participation in workshops while keeping sightlines clear. Cabaret Style (round tables facing the speaker) works well for group discussion, while a Boardroom setup is for small, executive-level meetings.

  • Create Breakout Zones, Even in Tight Spaces

Use corners, side rooms, or even hallway nooks for informal chats or quick breakouts. Adding a few chairs and a coffee table can turn unused space into a networking spot.

  • Use Vertical Space to Open Things Up

Don’t crowd the floor, think upwards. Wall-mounted screens, ceiling projectors, vertical banners, or even hanging decor can add the illusion of a large space without taking up square footage.

  • Opt for Movable, Multi-Use Furniture

Tables that fold, chairs on wheels, etc. Flexible furniture lets you shift from presentations to group work without needing a full reset.

  • Make the Tech Work for You

In smaller spaces, good tech can make a big difference. Live-stream presentations to screens around the room, use wireless mics to boost sound, and consider audience apps for Q&A to cut down on interruptions.

Subject: A Big Thank You for the Opportunity to Host at Your Event Space! Dear Jon-Jon Hilton, We wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the opportunity to host our event at your venue. Despite a few location-related hiccups that were out of our control, the overall experience was a huge success, and we couldn't have asked for a better space to being our vision to life. Thank you again for allowing us to use your space. We hope to return for future events.

Booked The Meeting Room at Sutherland Labs

Excellent work space - bright, spacious enough for 10 of us and good facilities. The on hand staff were helpful and refreshed the water/drinks and milk throughout the day without prompting and the toilet/facilities were clean. Efficient service and reasonably priced - whilst not the cheapest it was worth the money we spent. Will be returning for future London based meetings without hesitation.

Booked Meeting Room at The Co-Dalston

The space was bright, comfortable and big enough for our team of six and had all we needed for our meeting. It had a good vibe about it and was in a great location. Having a coffee shop in the same building was ideal. All in all, happy with our choice and would have no problems booking this venue again in the future.

Booked Meeting room - Dylan at Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum

Great location as very close to Gloucester Road Tube Station and in Central London. Good size room for events and hope to use it again in the future. On the day the people that setup the tea and coffee and internet were very efficient and helpful. It's really important to have people that are responsive and willing to find solutions. We found that in the team there.

Guests really liked the venue itself and close proximity to the station. Was great to provide own catering and bought teas and coffees from the venue which was a good standard. Will use venue again. Amelia was a great help throughout with all our enquiries

Booked Presentation Lecture Theatre at David Game College
4.8
We were in the smaller lecture theatre that seats 70 people. The room was clean, bright and nicely refurbished. There is also a room, although a bit small, next to it that can be used for catering. Neil Pama is a helpful host. He was always available when we needed him, and put up signs so our attendees could find their way around the building. Neil also organized wine, prosecco, and glasses at the end at a competitive price for our wine reception. We will return.
