But it’s also possible to hire a wedding space on the basis of a minimum spend which will cost anywhere between £1500 to £6000+. No, hiring a wedding planner isn’t mandatory. However, they can be a huge help during the planning process. Not only can they guide you through all the decision-making, but they can also give you advice that will ensure your Big Day is flawless and just as you have always dreamed. Apart from that, these professionals also have a network of connections in the industry, so they can win you some amazing deals with florists, bakers, caterers and other vendors.

Start early. Most couples secure their first-choice option up to one year in advance as it guarantees the best hire price on their preferred date. However, ideally, before starting this we recommend that you also have both your guest list and your budget prepared, so that your search for the ideal wedding space is as hassle-free as possible.

In London, affordable wedding reception venues can be found in areas like East London, South London, Outer London, Peckham, Greenwich, Canary Wharf and Docklands, and North London, including neighborhoods such as Hackney, Brixton, Clapham, Croydon, Bromley, Richmond, Islington, and Camden. These areas offer a variety of unique and budget-friendly options ranging from repurposed warehouses and galleries to pubs, community halls, rooftop bars, local restaurants, parks, historic houses, and cultural venues. To secure the best deals, consider booking on non-traditional days during off-peak seasons, and explore package deals that might include catering and decorations.

We had our wedding reception at Fidelio on 23rd December. From the moment we met Raff, Ash, Predrag and the rest of the team, we knew we were in for an exceptional experience. They did not disappoint. World class service, exquisite food and exceptional hospitality. An amazing experience was had by all who celebrated with us on our special day. We will be eternally grateful for all the hard work the team at Fidelio put in, to ensure we hosted the best reception ever! The day couldn't have been more perfect. Highly recommend Fidelio café. Booked Main Restaurant at Peron No4
4.7
My husband and I booked this venue for an intimate wedding reception for 40 guests after our civil ceremony (The Old Marylebone Hotel). We booked the venue approx 1 month before our wedding. Barbara, the events planner was super helpful, friendly and responsive. Naz, the restaurant owner was also amazing! His passion and enthusiasm really added to the experience. Plus he was very supportive and reassuring in stressful moments as a DIY bride. The venue is beautiful and really needs minimal decoration. We sat 40 guests comfortable for an intimate experience. The food was also incredible and great value for money. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the staff, service and food. It was a beautiful experience all round. As for location, it's approx 15 minute drive from the old marylebone town hall. There is parking available near to the restaurant, I would advice pre-booking on JustPark I would highly recommend this venue and cannot wait to visit again.

Booked Balcony Room at Swan, Shakespeare's Globe
5.0
Wow, just WOW! ? The Balcony Room was a DREAM venue for our small wedding reception. The staff were very attentive and helpful in the run-up to the event, and on the day itself (even when, due to a transportation nightmare, the bride and groom arrived an hour later than we planned)!! Everyone was in LOVE with the venue (the setup, the florals, and OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THE VIEW?!?!), I still have dreams about the food, the cake was delicious, and the drinks were on point!! There was also a cloakroom and and an elevator, which came in very handy on the day. Truly we could not have imagined a better evening!! But seriously, that view. ?

Booked The Blue Anchor at Boathouse Studios, Barking
5.0
My husband and I recently held our wedding reception at the Boathouse Creative Studios and couldn't recommend them more highly. Julie and Carole went above and beyond all of our expectations and requests. From continuously arranging extra time for us to stay and decorate, sourcing and liaising with suppliers on our behalf, to moving around their own days off to allow us to come in and scout the place out with our DJ, they made the whole day (and run up) go perfectly smoothly. The venue itself was spotlessly clean and provided a quirky blank canvas for us to make our mark on. Nothing was too much to ask - even the security staff they employed were so friendly that they felt more like guests on the day. All in all, we'd wholeheartedly recommend you consider the Boathouse Creative Studios for your event.

Booked Whole venue at The Trading House
5.0
We booked the Trading House as our wedding reception venue and were not disappointed. Lots of guests commented on how nice the venue was, how great the food was, and how accommodating the staff were. The venue was very accommodating to our requests around how the venue should be set up, altering menus to suit dietary requirements, and assisting with our entertainment. The staff were great on the night and really helped us to establish a friendly fun atmosphere for the wedding!!

Booked Basement Bar at The Gallery
5.0
My husband and I booked the Gallery for a second wedding reception (married in Canada in family, but wanted to throw a party for our friends in London) after not one, but TWO venues fell through on us. We were so happy with the staff! Not only were they kind and helpful, we were really impressed with their communication leading up to the event and their service on the day of. They helped set up and tidy up, and made the event run very smoothly. The catering was delicious! Our guests had a fantastic time, and so did we.

Booked Gallery Cottage at Dulwich Picture Gallery

Charming little venue with a lovely private garden which proved ideal for my wedding reception. The manager, David was super nice and helpful from the day I first visited, all the way through to the event itself. Great that the venue provided chairs and some tables, as well as offering hiring of garden games. All guests loved the day and were impressed by location. Really good memories of this experience - would def recommend using the space!
