If you want to organise a party from A to Z, consider hiring a blank canvas space like a private studio or a loft to transform it into exactly what you want.

Hiring a private place for a birthday party is a low-stress way to celebrate growing older – or younger (we’ll let you decide). Regardless of your age, you won’t have to suffer the pangs of preparing your home for a large group, and you also won’t face having to do the dishes afterwards.

Be sure and check the birthday party location offer before you book your private event to make sure. London offers many BYO birthday venues, but you might want to investigate whether there are any extra fees for this, such as a corkage fee, for example. Use our smart search filters to look for spaces that fit your need!

Booked Cosy & Stylish Loft Dalston at Hoxtonlab Ltd
4.7
I hired the loft for my 50th birthday party, and this was money well-spent. The communication was friendly and clear throughout, and the loft is cosy and atmospheric – it didn't need any special decorations to make it look welcoming and fit for celebrations. My expectations were met, as I could welcome my guests "at home", play our own music, bring our own catering, shout and dance to our hearts content without having to worry about the neighbours. I had 28 people turn up in the end, and the space was perfect to mingle.

Booked Garden Room at TOLA
5.0
wonderful venue. had my 24th birthday party in the garden room/terrace. there were benches outside for people to sit and eat and they gave us tables to set up our food. i ordered external catering and there was a private bar for us upstairs so we didn’t have to use the one in the club downstairs. frank was profesional when processing my bookings as well as friendly. security was also attentive to keeping the party private. it was a very straight forward and stress free process. thank you again!

Booked Semi-Exclusive Main Bar at Lost Society (Battersea SW11)
5.0
Shannon has been absolutely amazing throughout! She ensured I was happy and satisfied with the service, as well as answered any queries prior to my partner’s surprise party. The security guard named Ben was fantastic and took care of my friends when they weren’t well. I highly recommend lost society! I celebrated my partner’s 27th surprise birthday party. Shannon has been in touch from beginning till the end. I am over the moon with the service I have received. The canapés were absolutely delicious! Great DJ and I couldn’t stop dancing! What a Vibe

Booked Lower Ground Private Room at Dalston Party Venue | Public Space
5.0
Susan was great in helping to secure the perfect venue. She was quick to respond to messages and made the whole process very easy and straightforward. We booked the space for a friend’s 50th birthday party with friends arriving from all over the world so it was a pretty special night. Melvin and his staff were fantastic! I could not have asked for a better team to look after us – nothing was too much trouble and they made the room look lovely particularly the tables with tablecloths, napkins and lots of candles. It was such a great space. 40 of us ate tapas (the food was great) and 50 of us in total for the dancing afterwards. The large speakers were great (we had our own DJs) along with aircon and clean toilets close by. The atmosphere was fantastic and this is partly down to the wonderful crew that looked after us. Melvin helped me all the way to organise the event; he was helpful, considerate and very prompt with responding to my emails – a pleasure to work with! I actually don’t think you’ll find a venue this good for the price. Thank you Melvin and your team!

Booked The Terrace at Studio48 Bar & Kitchen
5.0
My partner had his 50th birthday party in the upstairs gallery last Firday and we could not have been happier with the choice of venue, the service, the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff, the music and the general laid back atmosphere. Our server Victor was on hand before the party started to help us set up and was there all through the evening, quietly and efficiently replenishing drinks and food and taking orders from our guests. Tash in the office was very helpful in planning the event and arranging to remove furniture to make more space. We brought mixtapes but chose not to use them and the music from the DJ was excellent, creating a really nice vibe all night. All of our guests were impressed by the gallery which is so cute and convivial. Thank you to everyone for a really great night.

Booked Whole Venue with the Garden at Freud Museum London
5.0
We held my husband's surprise 70th Birthday party in the Freud Museum Garden a week ago. I visited the museum prior to the event with the caterers (Black Pot) and we found the Museum staff, especially Francisco, very helpful with suggestions for the lay out of seats and tables and whether we should use a marquee or not. In the event the day was very hot and sunny and we were pleased to be able to use both the marquee and enjoy the placement of the seats and tables in the shady parts of the garden. We found that the garden comfortably accommodated around 45 adults and six children. The party was a great success and many guests commented on how lovely the gardens were and the delicious food.

Booked Basement Bar at Coin Laundry
4.8
I had my 30th birthday party in the Basement Bar at Coin Laundry. It was excellent and I highly recommend! I had about 80 people attending. The basement is a very good size which we divided into a dance floor area and a drinks/canape standing area with standing tables near the bar – which worked really well (although you can organise the room any way you want). When I arrived to set up, the basement was very tidy, and the team had laid out a prosecco area and a water stand and were happy to sort out various tables for cakes and presents. It was nicely air conditioned too which was a relief in this heatwave! The food was really good and was served as instructed. I organised a friend to come and DJ and the team assisted in making sure she had everything needed to connect her decks to the speaker system. The team were so helpful – especially Andrew and Emma (and Zac over emails). Thank you very much for making my night so enjoyable and stress-free! Also appreciate the last minute request to find a microphone and setting this up so thank you. Finally – thanks to the chefs for letting us put the cake in your fridge earlier in the day to stop it melting in the heat!
