The venue was absolutely perfect! We loved the space and physical layout of the room - the food was exceptional, as were amenities for our musicians and organisation on the day. Hats off and much praise and appreciation to the pub staff who not only ensured the event went smoothly, but helped with the catering and left us confident that we were in good hands from beginning to end. Big thanks to everyone in the kitchen who made marvellous food! It was so tasty it went quickly! The pub staff also offered help with the catering - always available for phone and in person meetings. They showed a real care, enthusiasm and interest in the planning and on the day - leaving us to have a great party!!! We couldn't recommend this highly enough for any event!
Unfortunately - we found the events organisers frustrating, often irritating - causing more stress then support. They Insisted on email communication - we had to push hard to get an actual telephone conversation. Mainly, we found the exchange cold, impersonal, uncaring - and the information often inadequate and sometimes wrong. Fortunately, the pub staff made up for this - and we were able to have real help by occasional visits to the pub and telephone calls with the pub staff, which were always helpful, and often necessary.

Elgin did an outstanding job hosting our wedding reception. Everything was perfectly timed and well-organized, and the food was both abundant and delicious. We had a bar tab, and the team served our guests wonderfully throughout the evening. As the bride and groom, we didn’t have to worry about a thing on the big day, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also very much liked their transparency with costs!

The Elgin was an absolutely fantastic venue for my birthday party and I had the best night celebrating with family and friends. The decorations, catering and staff all made the evening perfect and I would definitely run another event here.

Rustic country comfort meets modern gastro cool – that’s the Elgin.

Located at the top of Elgin Avenue just minutes from Paddington, the Elgin can be booked in whole or in part for groups from 20 – 200 for both private and corporate events.

A growing wedding reception venue the homeliness of the space is perfect for a family affair but if your event is all business the flexible feel of the bars lends itself easily to your requirements.

There’s a private bar on the 1st floor with space for 100 people or the whole venue can be opened up to your party if you need more space. As part of the Urban Leisure Group, The Elgin has an effortless cool about it where the service is friendly but relaxed and the food is just darned good!
