FAQs about Top Unusual Wedding Venues in London

The cost of hiring a unique wedding venue in London varies greatly depending on factors like location, size, and extras included. Smaller venues typically start around £300 per evening, with weekday events generally cheaper than weekends.

Prices for larger venues can range from £5,000 to £10,000 or more, often just for the space. Some venues charge by the hour or headcount, and additional costs may apply for catering, music, and decor. Many venues offer minimum spend options starting at £2,500, with per-person packages ranging from £40 to £200 for food and drinks.

Always check what’s included and do thorough research before booking.

  • Are you and your partner artistic people who wish to incorporate art into your special day? There is no better way to tie the knot than in a gorgeous gallery! Pump House Gallery can be your very own blank canvas, where you can let your inner artist flourish for your wedding.

  • Perhaps you and your partner enjoy being on the go and discovering new places and activities. Your wedding can be equally as exciting and one-of-a-kind. Have you ever considered getting married on a cruise? That's correct, the MV Erasmus at City Cruises Ltd is a one-of-a-kind venue that will undoubtedly be the ideal setting for an amazing wedding. If you wish to enjoy spectacular riverside views from the comfort of an on-land location, check out our recommendations for Top Riverside Venues in London.

Other unique wedding venues in London that we highly recommend checking out include:

  • The Hackney - if you want to get married amongst stunning hanging gardens filled with tropical plants

Absolutely. If you’re after something full of character, The Golden Hinde is a great choice—it’s a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship and makes for a really memorable, intimate venue. Another option is Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell. It’s got that old London charm with beautiful arches and a cosy atmosphere. If you’re after something grand, St Martin-in-the-Field near Trafalgar Square is also worth a look.

Some do, and others let you bring in your own caterers. Places like Glaziers Hall and Woods Silver Fleet have catering sorted for you, which makes things easier. But if you’ve got a specific menu in mind, venues like The Golden Hinde often let you arrange your own food and drinks. Just double-check before you book.

What’s Usually Included In These Unusual Venue Prices?

Some places throw in extras like furniture, AV equipment, and even lighting, but at others, you might need to bring everything in yourself. Always check the fine print or better yet, message the venue directly through Tagvenue to get a clear breakdown.

How Do I Keep Costs Low When Hiring A Wedding Venue?

Look for weekday or off-peak bookings. Some venues slash prices dramatically for Monday to Thursday events. Also, venues with a minimum spend model can work out cheaper if you’re clever with your catering choices. And remember, a small guest list makes quirky venues feel just right without breaking the bank.

Great venue and set up Staff were available early in the day so we were able to set up our decorations a few hours before the party which was great. Everyone was really helpful, and on hand for any questions and assistance. Venue was exactly as pictured, great sized space in a good location. Would definitely hire The Green Room again.

Great space for an intimate informal event with quirky decor and a great, friendly vibe. Well set up for live music. We had two bands playing and the set up and sound was excellent. All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional both in the planning stage and on the night. Pizzas were tasty. We had 60 guests and we felt that was about right in terms of having space to chat and dance. A bit more space for the food would have been good but it worked ok. Highly recommended.
