The Tent is a unique space located just a stone's throw from the thoroughfare of Bishopsgate and Liverpool St. Station. A 16-sided structure, made in Saudi Arabia and covered in woven goat's hair, the tent is a peaceful space ideal for meetings, workshops/training events, along with the stunning garden courtyard - a real oasis in the City!
It is carpeted and fully heated, with atmospheric lighting. The tent is circular with cushioned bench seating around the edge. There are no tables in the tent and people are asked to remove their shoes before entering.
The undercover glass foyer that overlooks the courtyard may be used for refreshments or to lay out items on a table.

Morning bookings are 8:00am – 12:00pm
Afternoon bookings are 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Evening bookings are 6:00pm – 10:00pm (extension till 2am available)
Extensions before midnight: £70/hr
Extensions after midnight: £100/hr, or £200/hr if you are selling alcohol
For events where alcohol is being sold a Temporary Events Notice is required at a cost of £21 (correct at the time of writing).
A booking that crosses over the morning and afternoon slots will be considered a full day booking. A booking that doesn’t take up the whole of one slot will not be eligible for a discounted price (e.g. a booking from 10am to 12pm will pay the full price for a morning booking).

- No Red Wine / Red Drinks. Throughout the venue, red wine is not permitted due to the stone floors of the nave and courtyard, and the carpeted interior of the Bedouin tent
- Smoking (including e-cigarettes/vaping) is strictly forbidden in any part of the building or Tent, but is permitted in the courtyard garden or outside the front entrance on Bishopsgate
- No Helium Balloons
- No blu tack
- No Candles inside Tent or Inner Courtyard. Candles are permitted in the outer
courtyard and other areas when in a container higher than the flame. They should
not be placed near/under plants or in thoroughfares
- No Shoes inside Tent. We kindly ask all guests and organisers to remove their
shoes before entering the Bedouin Tent
- Set-up and clear-up time is included in the booked slot. The space will not be
accessible before this time
- The space must be left as found

Nelson was super helpful and we had a better hire experience this time, the venue was clean and tidy
The venue is so gorgeous and it was perfect for my Bridal shower. It was a very hot day, but the courtyard outside the tent is so shady and provides a very cool breeze. Perfect setting.
We were given the wrong contact person for the day, which was a bit confusing. But this was then easily resolved. Also, we were not able to cater onsite, so only had the option of using fingerfood- but this worked out well for me in the end!

About St Ethelburga's Centre
The location is a stunning venue situated near Liverpool Street. It provides a fantastic combination of intimacy and grandeur with original 14th-century arches providing the backdrop to the main space. Destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1993, it has been rebuilt with modern features and offers a unique and memorable space for any event. It is equipped with fast WiFi and has an in-house projector and sound system available in the main space.
The Bedouin Tent is a circular space, ideal for meetings and away-days, intimate gatherings and workshops, while the Nave offers a spectacular space for larger events.
We can offer catering from light refreshments right up to a fully staffed service. Or, if you are an individual or small charity, simply bring your own and use our kitchen.
