We are very flexible and will try to accommodate all your requirements within reason.
In the event of cancellation by the client, the company reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees:
1.1. If cancellation is effected three calendar weeks or less prior to the event, the 30% deposit payment will be due.
1.2. If cancellation is effected two calendar weeks or less prior to the event, the full minimum spend will be due.
1.3. In addition, any fees charged to the company in respect of bookings made on the client’s behalf in connection with the Event will be payable in full by the client.

The venue fit our 25 people group perfectly, with enough room left to dance the night away. The sound system was very good and easy to use (cables are available, volume can be managed directly in the room, and wifi is available). Guests were impressed by the food and the cocktails which were all served promptly, as agreed before the event. It was also very easy to manage the tab (i.e. everyone could open individual ones and pay by the end of the night). They allowed us to bring birthday decorations and a birthday cake which was appreciated. There is AC in the room. And finally the bartender was efficient in getting the cocktails sorted out quickly, and super friendly with the guests (even those who didn’t speak good English!). This was, without a doubt, the perfect venue for my 30th birthday!
The only slightly negative point was that it was not communicated to me that the cocktails available would only be from the event menue (less original and fun for those familiar with the bar downstairs), but upon seeing my disappointment the barman figured out a way to make 4 of the off-menus cocktails available for the evening - very happy about that! The venue is excellent although I'm not sure you would want 40 people in the space as may be a little cramped. Staff are friendly and there is a nice relaxed vibe to the place. The booking process was easy with good communication from staff.
Whilst the food I ordered was lovely, I had majorly over-ordered for my party size which as well as costing me money was a massive waste of food. It would have been good if this was pointed out to me at the time of ordering (as you were aware of how many people I was expecting) rather than on the night when it was too late to change anything. I had my 30th birthday party in the Jubjub room and from booking it all the way through to the end of the night, the staff were absolutely phenomenal. Communication with the team before the night was fantastic, they were so organised. When I arrived the team were so welcoming, professional and on the ball, which was exactly what I needed as I haven't hosted an event like this before and was quite stressed about it! They were on hand throughout the night, helping with music, food and cake and so accommodating with any requests made. They were genuinely such warm and kind people and that in itself really makes a difference. Our barman was brilliant (unfortunately I can't remember his name!) but he was so cool under pressure and wonderful to my guests all night. His cocktails were brilliant and the guests loved them. The room was perfect. A great size for 35-40 guests and had plenty of seating and tables. I would 100% hire this venue again, and my guests kept commenting on how great they thought it was.
When we arrived, we were told that the venue iPad that is used to play music was broken by previous guests. Unfortunately the sound system is not compatible with iPhones and I hadn't brought my laptop (as previously told I didn't need to) so the manager very kindly lent me his Mac, though this also kept freezing so there were moments throughout the party where we didn't have any music which was a shame. I found this to be quite stressful as music is always a big part of any party. Eventually one of my guests was able to connect her Samsung phone to the system which seemed to work for the last couple of hours. Had the sound system worked smoothly, it would have made a really positive difference. I think having the option to have a second member of bar-staff for the first couple of hours would be great, as the time taken to make cocktails for 35 people means lots of queueing at the bar for the first couple of hours of the party. My guests didn't seem to mind at all and I know given the size of the room it probably isn't cost-effective to have more than one person behind the bar, but I would happily pay extra for this were it an option in future. About Callooh Callay Shoreditch
Callooh Callay opened in November 2008. At the time, cocktail bars in Shoreditch were few and far between. A venue which delivers high quality drinks and service, but without any of the pretension that came along with those things in 2008. We wanted to do things a little differently with our design and with our menus, for which we have become pretty famous.
In the last 12 years we've been very lucky to have made drinks for, and served, hundreds of thousands of guests. We've been even luckier to win an award or 2 from our peers along the way. We were named Best International High Volume Cocktail Bar at Tales of the Cocktail 2016, Worlds Best Cocktail Menu in 2012 and have been named in Drinks International's World's 50 Best Bars in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
