Unusual Birthday Party Venues Hire Guide

What to take into account when going through our list of venues for an unusual birthday party:

  • The price – When you are considering unusual birthday party activities in London, the price is always going to be a factor. Make sure you also bring 20% of your initial budget for contingencies.
  • The location – Your guests might not make it to your party if the place is very inconvenient for them. You also have to consider their schedules, as well. For big parties, the goal should be to get more than half of your invited guests to show up.
  • Another thing to consider when choosing between different birthday activities in London is the capacity of the venue. First finalise the number of guests before creating a shortlist of your favourite venues in London. Next check out their services, food, and amenities. It’s better if you visit the place for inspection before deciding on the final venue, especially if you decide to choose an unusual space. Always ask the venue manager about parking as well.

Frequently asked questions:

What are some of the quirkiest things to do for a birthday in London?

  • Whirled Cinema – Does a movie night sound simple to you? How about hiring a whole venue for a screening party? This activity is perfect for those who love the Silver Screen.
  • VIP Bus Party – You may have heard about luxurious limousine party tours but why stop there when you can rent a whole bus? The bus comes with party hosts and hostesses who are at your beck and call.
  • The Bunker – If you are looking for fun things to do for an adult’s birthday in London, how about playing a golf simulator on a giant screen with overflowing pints and ale? The Bunker can seat 10 people comfortably, and you can hang with your blokes and get hammered.
  • Nordic Bar – This bar just a few yards away from the Goodge Street Station and pays homage to Scandinavia. Sample their Nordic beers and menu, including their famous Swedish meatballs.
  • R.S. Hispaniola – If you think a party bus is an unusual thing to do in London, how about a whole ship? From the deck, you will have an unhampered view of the London Eye while you float on the historic River Thames.
  • Puttshack – An indoor mini-golf course, plenty of beer, and delicious food. What else could you ask for?

Unusual Birthday Party Venues in London FAQ

What unusual birthday party activities can I do in London?

Have a fab party in one of the venues available here on Tagvenue of course! But if you want to add something fun and quirky to do before or after then we also have a few other ideas as well. London is a great place to have a birthday party–it's a city full of culture, history, and fun opportunities for adventure! Here are some unusual birthday party activities that you can do in London:

  1. Go on a Segway tour through Hyde Park and learn about the history of the park
  2. Take a stroll through Kensington Gardens and see where Princess Diana lived while she was married to Prince Charles
  3. Cruise the River Thames on a boat cruise or go on an excursion to Greenwich
  4. Have a picnic at Kew Gardens and enjoy one of the world's best botanical gardens

How should I decorate the venue for my unusual birthday party?

Decorate with flowers: Flowers are always a great way to liven up a space! You can buy them at any market or flower shop in London, and they'll add the perfect amount of colour and beauty to your venue.

Decorate with candles: Candles are also great for lighting up dark spaces, especially when you're hosting an intimate gathering at night. You can get candles from any store that sells home goods—they're really affordable!

Decorate with food: Food is another great way to bring life into an otherwise uninteresting space. If you have access to kitchens, and ovens on-site, or if you’re planning to prepare something at home, then consider making some cookies or cupcakes as part of your decoration scheme.

What types of unusual venues can I book in London?

A restaurant or a bar seems so mundane, but have you had the chance to check out the venues we have available? You can book a cinema room, a den and even a private cabinet. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg! There are also fabulous outdoor areas and unique event spaces which are waiting just for you. Check them out today!

Theo, Jake and all the staff I dealt before and on the night were absolutely brilliant. Helpful, accommodating, friendly and wanting to do their best to make my night special. Jake and the bar staff on the night were enjoying themselves with us and just made the place feel like I was having a party in my own home. The venue itself was perfect for what I wanted. Great space inside and out and use of a big screen and DJ equipment. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommended. My friends and I just had the BEST night! Thank you guys for making my 40th birthday so special.
Kristina Gren
Booked The Feather's Lounge at The Prince of Wales Feathers
The bar management was very lovely and worked with us to help set up the place, move furniture etc. The staff were quick and diligent in serving people whilst remaining pleasant and fun even when the bar got a little bit hectic. The room was also very lovely and we had good feedback from the guests on it looking like a nice, open yet cosy place for a private party.
