Compressor House is an extraordinary Grade II-listed industrial landmark on the edge of Royal Albert Dock in London’s Royal Docks (E16). Built in 1914 as a cold-storage and cargo facility for the working docks, the building retains the raw power, scale and texture of London’s maritime past while now being reimagined as a cultural destination.
Set directly on the waterfront with uninterrupted dockside views, Compressor House offers filmmakers a rare blend of monumental architecture and atmospheric decay - vaulted ceilings, exposed brick, steel gantries, original rails, heavy machinery remnants, cavernous halls and dramatic industrial sightlines that feel both timeless and cinematic.
Unlike many repurposed industrial sites, Compressor House has preserved its authentic character. The vast interior spaces can read as anything from dystopian future, secret lair, underground bunker, underground lab, abandoned factory, high-security facility, historical warehouse, art installation space or immersive performance arena.
