About Greenwich Borough Hall

Situated in the heart of Greenwich, this historic building has been home to concerts, weddings, and much more. Built in 1939, we have chosen to keep and refresh that Art Deco glamour that has made Borough Hall both famous and cherished in London. This classic brick building has been restored keeping its history reflected in every inch of the space.

Completed in 1939, Greenwich Borough Hall is an Art Deco landmark designed by Clifford Culpin, inspired by Dutch modernism. It was recognised by architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as "the only town hall of any London borough to represent the style of our time adequately". From its opening, it became a popular venue for entertainment, hosting performances by bands like The Who in 1964 and Squeeze in 1975.

With two halls, including our main space up to 350 in banquet style (up to 800 in conference style it has theatre seats at the top) and our secondary hall - up to 150 in banquet style, we are truly a multi-functional venue. We have kitchen and bar facilities, plenty of changing rooms and toilets, as well as about 14 meeting rooms.
