The defining quality of The Big Fridge is its sheer volume of space. The high ceilings, long sightlines and deep interior give productions a sense of freedom and spectacle that’s rare in London.

This is unapologetically industrial. Exposed brick, weathered surfaces, metal beams, original dockside infrastructure and remnants of its working past all contribute to an authentic, gritty aesthetic.

Unlike many heritage buildings broken into smaller rooms, The Big Fridge is a blank spatial canvas. Its openness makes it ideal for: large set builds, immersive art installations, runway shows, performance pieces, dance sequences, crowd scenes, vehicle or rig-heavy shoots.

True to its name and history, The Big Fridge retains a cool, airy quality that feels subterranean and striking. The acoustics also lend themselves to dramatic sound design - echoes, reverberation and a sense of isolation.
