What kinds of small live music venues can I book in London?

Bars, pubs, and clubs are a popular pick for small music events in London, providing a relaxed atmosphere and drawing in great audiences! You’ll find spaces with different vibes, from classy hidden speakeasies and trendy cocktail bars to basement venues and buzzing nightclub lounges. If that sounds like your thing, check out The Basement Bar at Green Note near Camden Town Station, The Luggage Room at Mr Fogg’s City Tavern near Liverpool Street Station, and The Music Room at Prince of Peckham near Peckham Rye Station.

You’ll also find some dedicated small performance venues, which often have dedicated stages and great sound equipment, for example the Babel Art House located in Stoke Newington. For daytime live music events, you should definitely check out London’s loft event spaces, cafes, libraries, and studios! If that’s what you’re looking for, we recommend heading over to the Music Room at Pushkin House near Holborn Station or The Library at The Hearth situated close to Queen’s Park.

How do I pick a venue for my small live music event in London?

There are a few things you need to consider before booking a venue for your small concert in London:

  • Atmosphere. London is buzzing with districts beloved by music lovers and performers alike, so you have a great selection to pick from! Would you prefer central and diverse Islington, alternative Brixton, or iconic Camden Town? Stockwell, with its popular Cavendish Arms venue, and Hoxton with Gigi’s Hoxton are also great choices for a vibrant atmosphere!
  • Reachability. You don’t want your audience to struggle to get to your gig, so check local underground, bus, and railway links. If you can, choose a live music venue that’s close to a major transport hub, for example Kings Cross or Liverpool Street Stations!
  • Prices and popularity. Central London locations can often be more expensive and sought-after, so you may need to reserve a bigger budget and more time for your search. If you’re looking for a cheaper small live music venue in London, consider locations further away from the centre, for example in Tottenham or Stratford!

Great venue! I organized a music gig for my band and everything was great! Staff was really friendly and helpful and the sound engineer did an excellent job! We even had a drunk guy who was causing some trouble and the staff were really on it and kicked him out of the venue! Highly recommend it
