I booked this place for a birthday party. We had about 25/30 guests! This venue was perfect for it. I liked that it also had its own separate toilet on the same level as the function room. Staff were very helpful and friendly
It was great to find a venue within our limited budget for the evening (~£25 per head all in). The team were very friendly and helpful both on the web and on the night - thank you! The beers and wine were good value. The mac and cheese bites were addictive. The darts were fun! The separate toilet upstairs was nice quality, and it was great not to have to go to the pub downstairs.
The room is smaller than expected. We only had 40 guests and it was rammed and very noisy. It's advertised as having space for 60 - that would have been unbearable. First impressions weren't great but things did improve. The room is up stairs that also lead towards a hostel, which feels a bit odd! The room is a little worn, very warm and smells of stale beer. The pub itself was also very busy and rowdy when the rugby was on earlier in the evening, but it did calm down later. We had ordered from the Christmas menu, but received a call that the delivery hadn't arrived. We swapped in for pizzas/nachos though, so it wasn't a major issue. We asked to have the beer pong set up, but this wasn't done and in fact the beer pong table disappeared - not sure why. The controls for the music are behind a grille in the bar, and as we didn't have the private bar open this involved someone having to leave their phone behind the bars. We weren't able to change the music without one of the team coming up and releasing it!
