The Upside Down is a private event space in Zombie Games Café & Bar, a basement club-style room defined by low ceilings and coloured mood lighting. Design: Exposed brick walls, a concrete floor and a low beam-lined ceiling give the room a compact, industrial basement look. The lighting is driven by concealed LEDs and neon strips that cast deep red...

Had a great time at the venue. Supportive staff, very contactable, well priced drinks. Love splitting the music over two floors, loved the games on offer, just a really laid back time.
One toilet isn't ideal for parties, but really not a dealbreaker. Worth being aware of though!

30th Birthday Party · 100 guests · June 2026 · Zombie Entire Venue
Fantastic venue, really cool to have it split across two floors- helps keep the vibe going so people have an option of whether they want to be downstairs dancing or upstairs chilling. Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful, kind. Venue was super accommodating both on the night & in advance- very responsive and informative in the communications beforehand. All my guests commented on how cool the space was. Zero complaints, I love this place!

30th Birthday Party · 40 guests · May 2026 · The Upside Down
Amazing venue, they set up the dance floor with break out gaming spaces which worked a treat !! A range of disco lights with colour options and easy tech to plugin your phone and hook up your own Spotify playlist. There was AC too on both floors which was a god send 🙏 Would recommend hiring out the whole place so there’s something for everyone, e.g. if people want to get away from the dance floor. Warm friendly staff (shout out Xander and the other bar staff whose names I have forgotten sorry!) they answered any qs and helped us with storing cake in their fridge and putting the smoke machine on. Such a chill, vibey atmosphere, loved it so much and everyone complimented the food and drinks were amazing value for London
Nothing! Just wish it was slightly closer to central as I’d pop by more often, but definitely worth the trip

Birthday Party · 80 guests · March 2026 · Zombie Entire Venue
What a night! From our first look at the venue to the end of our party, the staff were absolute pros throughout. The venue is great, there is lots to do, which gets everyone mingling. Must be at least 10 different stations with different video game consoles, board games etc. for everyone to get silly. The staff are quick to help if any of the games need setting up. Bar staff were excellent in providing drinks and chats all night. They received many compliments from our guests following the party. Drinks are reasonably priced for London, so you're not worrying about your bank account all night. We had a DJ set up downstairs which was easy to arrange with the host. Paddy, the owner, was great when we first viewed the venue. He put us immediately at ease by answering all our questions, and you could see his passion for what he's built here. We read about the basement ceiling height being an issue, but it wasn't bad. If guests are 6"3+ then they might struggle, but it's only in the middle where people had to duck. to get to either side. Security was lovely and welcoming to everyone. We paid for prosecco on arrival, which worked well and was reasonable. If you're thinking about throwing a quirky party that people won't forget, then this is the one!
The one shared toilet is a problem. If you're hosting more than 50 people, then another toilet downstairs should be a priority in my opinion. This is our only complaint.

'The venue, the staff, the security the vibes its created for my 40th birthday....I couldn't have asked for a better space. Will remember that day for a long time!'
  • Herbie S. rated it 4.7/5 stars
'I had an excellent time at Zombie hosting a birthday party. Loved the look of the bar, having videogames was a really fun and different experience and the drinks were great. Bar staff were also excellent, friendly, helpful and really nice.'
  • Alanis M. rated it 4.7/5 stars
'The team was really great, everybody loved the venue and was really impressed. The bartender that was there for the night helped us set up a beerpong table as well and surprise the birthday person with a cake. We could play our own music and had no issue at all with any people entering from upstairs (staff mustve checked upstairs). Can definitely recommend the space for parties (and I know one of our guests already got inspired to book soon!)'
