A unique mixture of traditional country-house and boho features, and yet the whole location is a ground-floor apartment.
The rooms have all their original features, but with exposed studwork in the main rooms and exposed brickwork in one of the front living rooms, with a black cast-iron stove. This room is painted F&B Downpipe Grey. A second main living room is painted white and bookers can repaint it to their requirements.
The hall has its original Palladian wooden arch and terrazzo flooring from 1903. A library nook with Moorish doors leads down to a bathroom/scullery with a rope-pulled Victorian clothes airer. The kitchen has exposed studs and retro tin American advertising plaques. Ceilings are 2.8 metres high throughout.
In addition, there are three bedrooms, two of which look out on a paved courtyard garden surrounded by tall bamboo, and with two rectangular ponds and a wisteria which flowers profusely in the Spring. The third bedroom has its own study on a lower level. There is also a shower room. Any of these could additionally be made available.
There is one parking space on the site. Parking on the street is currently free: no local authority parking restrictions. The whole property is ground floor, thus offering wheelchair access and easy lighting of rooms from exterior arc lamps.
