I hired the whole of the fifth floor on a Sunday (midday to 18.00) for a celebratory party of 50 people, and I’m very glad I chose this venue. I stayed overnight before and after the event and really enjoyed the hotel facilities, especially the gym and the delicious breakfast. Although the person organising the venue hire changed a couple of times, everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and clearly committed to making the event run well. The outdoor terrace space was fantastic and the whole area felt smart and comfortable. We decorated the space and made use of the digital screen and microphone. The custom-made mocktails, served beautifully to guests on arrival, were delicious, and the catering firm provided by The Gate did an excellent job. On the day itself, the staff were welcoming, professional and very supportive. My guests felt well looked after, and the venue was super clean and well presented. I’m very grateful to Rupok and the whole team and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again for another event.

The only thing that didn't go perfectly was the timing of food being presented - the food bowls were put out a little while after the canapes - so guests had already had canapes and cake before the wonderful main course came out.

we had issues to accessing coffee, due to one machine not working and one being cleaned, we had to queue at one machine which meant this took up time from our day and eat into our agenda. I would recommend have additional machines available/working to avoid this

We held our wedding party at The Gate, following the official marriage a couple of days before. Our experience was extremely positive. The day was exactly what we wanted, and many of our approximately 70 guests were full of praise for the venue and its staff, all of whom were helpful and cheerful. Special thanks to Rupok, who was manager on the day of the wedding and who was always available to provide support. The canapes and bowl food provided for the guests were tasty and freshly made, and served well for lunch (gluten free/coeliac-friendly and vegan options were available). Having the incredible penthouse suite for free one night, and reduced the night before, was the cherry on top of the (wedding) cake. Thanks to everyone at The Gate who helped make our day so special.
