About this space

The Keynes Suite (205 sqm) on the ground floor is our largest room and is completely pillar free. It can accommodate up to 264 theatre style or 144 in a cabaret set-up. The suite has one 136-inch screen and two 98-inch screens with inbuilt audio The Keynes Suite has air conditioning and lighting controls. It can be partitioned into a smaller space called Keynes 1+2 with a separate catering space in the Keynes anteroom or split into Keynes 1 and 2. There are plenty of power sockets throughout the suite (48), plus complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi. The space is fully accessible.

It takes its name from Memoir Club member John Maynard Keynes, one of the most influential economists and philosophers of the twentieth century.

Can the venue accommodate a DJ?

A female DJ may be brought in if the booking is moved downstairs to The Woolf Suite; a copy of the DJ’s public liability insurance must be provided. Bands are not permitted, but an acoustic guitarist, flautist, harpist or violinist may perform on arrival or at a fixed time in the agenda.

Can the venue manager join a meeting via Teams?

No, the venue manager cannot join via Teams because the computer does not have a camera and is experiencing audio issues. They would not be able to hear you, and you would not be able to hear them either.

What information is available about the venue’s DJ service?

The DJ is provided by a company the venue works with for corporate and social events. They will discuss the preferred playlist style beforehand, know the venue’s set-up and have appropriate insurance.

Does the Woolf Suite have a sound limiter?

Yes, the Woolf Suite has a sound limiter, which is required by government regulations because the venue is near residential areas. As the suite is on the Lower Ground Floor, sound is less likely to carry directly to nearby residents; therefore, guests may bring their own DJ when using the Woolf Suite.
