I booked the wine cellar for 50 people; around 40 including myself attended and I think the space worked really well for this amount of people. I was able to view the space before booking it; it was very straightforward. The minimum spend was reasonable. There was a good mix of seating for my birthfay drinks. The bar catered for almost all drinks, although if you wanted a pint on tap you needed to go up to the ground floor. This was not an issue for my guests. The barman was lovely. I ordered food (chicken teriyaki, sweet potato fries, veggie gyozas and crispy squid) and this also went down well with guests I lived that there was air con that I control within the room - when the room got packed, I wasn't worried about being hot. The space was clean with no lingering bar smell (which some places can habe) I was able to play my own music via aux. I suggest you bring a tablet with your downloaded playlist. The music was loud enough to be heard, but not too loud to stifle conversations. Communication for the most part was easy and on poiny. I was able to amend my booking to slightly earlier time so that I could prep the room for evening. The manager was excellent - friendly, professional and informative!
Overall my experience was great. I did get slightly nervous about whether my my catering order was confirmed. I didn't get a response via Tag Venue or direct email after a couple of days, so ended up having to call the venue to confirm. But once confirmed over the phone all was well.

Absolutely loved Venue 68 and Shanghai. The location was perfect, the drinks were great, and all of my friends kept complimenting how amazing the staff were. Everything came together to make my 30th birthday perfect. I would highly recommend everyone to book here. You won’t be disappointed.

The basement venue is perfect for a proper party with speakers. The staff were amazing on the night with drinks orders. It was relaxed and a great atmosphere. Everyone had the best time!
I disliked the fact I was not told in advance how much paperwork would be needed to bring my own DJ decks and speakers as this caused significant stress and extra cost. I paid for PLI insurance, got the equipment pat tested according to the venue’s rules and then when I got there the manager didn’t even know how to plug the stuff in and we ended up having to plug two extension leads together because there was not a long enough one which a) isn’t very safe and b) is quite ridiculous given the lengths I was made to go to do things legally/properly.
