About this space

Discover the serene beauty of The Chapel Cloister, a tranquil passage that leads into the heart of history. The stone flag floor and pale stone walls create an atmosphere of timeless elegance, providing a peaceful retreat amidst the rich heritage of Charterhouse.

As you stroll through the wide, airy space of the cloister, let your gaze be drawn to the beautiful, large arched windows that frame picturesque views of the Chapel garden and Charterhouse Square beyond. The interplay of natural light and the serene surroundings make this cloister a haven of tranquillity and reflection.

The Chapel Cloister is not just a pathway; it is a gallery of memories. Adorning the walls, you'll find a variety of memorials dedicated to some of the early renowned alumni of Charterhouse School and former Brothers of the Almshouse. As The Charterhouse undergoes redevelopment, its main event spaces are now among the most prestigious venues in central London. The vision extends beyond hosting events; it is about creating a permanent and vital entity that contributes to charity and leaves a lasting legacy.
