The Great Hall at The Charterhouse
About this space
Welcome to The Great Hall, a living piece of history that echoes the grandeur of Tudor nobility. This stunning and expansive room, which was originally a Tudor reception hall presided over by esteemed figures such as Lord North and the Duke of Norfolk, stands as a testament to a bygone era.
The Great Hall is a majestic venue, exuding an air of regality that makes it the perfect setting for receptions, formal dinners, filming, and recitals. Immerse your guests in the splendour of this historic hall, adorned with a striking arched ceiling that reaches for the heavens. Magnificent windows flood the space with natural light, revealing intricate details of a bygone era. A beautiful fireplace, skillfully crafted by Edmund Kinsman, adds a cosy touch to the ambience.
As your eyes wander, you will notice a gallery overlooking the hall, providing a distinctive vantage point to admire the grandeur below. An ornate carved wooden screen adds a layer of sophistication to the space, creating an opulent and welcoming atmosphere.
The Great Hall, with its timeless charm and historical significance, can accommodate up to 180 guests, making it the ideal venue for events that demand a touch of class and heritage.
