About this space

With a standard theatre capacity of 400, spread over the balcony and ground floor seating, our Main Hall retains its period features and is internationally renowned for its excellent acoustics.

The Main Hall is famous for hosting the longest run of classical concerts in the UK (which started in 1880 at the Society’s previous site), jazz concerts from the 1930s to the 1960s, a rare UK appearance from Muddy Waters and gigs by Crass and The Cure in 1970s, as well as many other concerts, including James Blake and La Roux, and events of all kinds during its 90 year history.

With our four HD cameras, we can record or livestream your event to YouTube (or another platform).

As well as concerts and performances, we can also host Hybrid physical/virtual events such as conferences (with in-person and remote delegates) and talks with Q&As.

The room is perfect for meetings, conferences, launches, receptions, exams, recordings, rehearsals, dances, as well as exhibitions, concerts and talks or any functions requiring a large stage and floor area.

- For cancellation of more than 181 days prior to the date of the event: No charge
- For cancellation between 91 and 180 days prior to the date of the event: 50% of the total cost will be charged.
- For cancellation between 1 and 90 days prior to the date of the event: 100% of the total cost will be charged.

The event space is fantastic and the staff are dedicated, extremely helpful, professional, and go above and beyond to make the day go smoothly and successfully. I organised this event with them from Australia and they made my job so much easier by ensuring meetings worked with the time differences, and were incredibly responsive to any and all (and I mean all, there were a lot) requests and clarifications and changes. Huge thank you to Konstantinos and Carly. Konstantinos was super helpful and adaptable, and Carly was a very much needed tech expert for our team. Thank you Conway Hall.

I cannot thank the team at Conway Hall enough. From booking to event support to catering support to AV - one of the best I've ever worked with. A professional, polite, brilliant bunch. This will be my go-to conference venue from now on. They did everything they could to make the whole event management process a smooth and relatively stress-free one. I cannot recommend them enough. London is full of great venues but not many have a team like this one. Anyone who has organised venues knows how a poor event team can add to your stress levels. FAQ

Yes, the Brockway Room could be used as an exhibition space and the Bertrand Russell Room for catering. As the building is listed, exhibitions must be free-standing and nothing can be affixed to the walls.

The standard AV package includes projection and microphones. Additional technical equipment is charged separately.
