About this space

The Crypt is a Function Room in Fortnum & Mason, a private dining room defined by its historic club-style interior.

Design: The room has low, intimate proportions, a deep red carpet and a central formal dining table surrounded by high-backed upholstered chairs. The lighting is provided by a central chandelier and wall sconces, and the finishes favour dark timber and muted fabrics.

Features: The room is arranged around a long central dining table suited to plated service. The room includes Wi‑Fi. The room includes an in-room PA system and speakers, and clients are permitted to play their own music.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a formal, intimate seated dining or focused meeting space that favours a traditional, club-like tone.

What sets it apart: The room contains an ornate carved stone relief above the fireplace that provides a clear historic focal point.
