About this space
The Queer Comedy Club is based in Elephant & Castle, and is known as the UK’s first LGBTQ+ comedy club. It’s set up as a proper performance space, but still feels approachable and easy to use.
The venue works well for private events, previews, fundraisers, filming, or one-off shows. It’s fully equipped with lighting, sound, and a stage, so you don’t have to bring much in to get going. The layout is flexible enough for comedy, cabaret, talks, or smaller creative events.
There’s also a licensed bar, and the team on-site can help with the practical side of things, so events tend to run smoothly without a lot of extra setup.
Our professional stage is approximately 4.2m x 1.8m and about 30cm high.
We have two lighting bars each with Spot 4 x high-power 8 W 4in1 QCL RGBW (homogenous color mix), Strobe effect 4 x high-power 1 W CW.
PA system, sound inputs, two wired mics.
80 seats, available in reduced flexible sections creating spaces of 70, 60, 50 and 40 seats in

Please respect the space, the staff, and each other - we’re inclusive, welcoming, and expect the same from our guests.
All equipment (mics, TVs, projector) must be used responsibly - any damage may incur charges.
You must bring your own HDMI cable to connect to screens and projector.
No external alcohol is permitted.
Catering is not provided in-house, but external food (e.g. pre-arranged pizza delivery) is welcome.
Events must finish at the agreed time. We love a party, but licences exist for a reason.
Noise levels must be managed appropriately, especially when using outdoor areas.
Decorations are welcome, but nothing that causes damage (no confetti cannons, glitter explosions, or wall attachments without approval).
All guests must adhere to our zero-tolerance policy on discrimination or harassment of any kind.
The venue must be left in a reasonable condition - excessive cleaning may result in additional fees.
