Circle&Star Theatre is a small fringe theatre that presents work in an intimate, close‑up performance setting.
Design: The auditorium is a compact black‑box space with dark painted walls, a low ceiling and framed posters that create a pared-back, performance‑focused look. The room uses simple stage lighting and table lamps for local illumination.
Features: The venue provides tiered seating, a PA system and speakers, Wi‑Fi and air conditioning. The auditorium includes a basic lighting rig and permits own music to be used subject to a noise restriction.
Ideal for: Theatre is best suited to small, intimate seated performances or speaker events that benefit from close audience proximity and an informal tone.
What sets it apart: Theatre has a pub directly beneath the auditorium whose bar service may be taken into the seating area, letting audiences buy drinks on site before or during events.
What guests say: Theatre is very intimate with good acoustics and friendly staff. The auditorium is not accessible to wheelchair users and is reached by narrow, uneven stairs; the seating is basic and can be uncomfortable for some visitors.

THE ROOM AS IT STANDS
Circle & Star is a working 55-seat theatre, not a blank space. The room is handed over in its resting state — house rig at its standing focus and plot, seating as set, sound and projection at standard operational level — and worked and left in it. No re-rigging, re-focusing, re-patching or re-plotting. Anything moved for a working session goes back before you leave.
YOUR BOOKED TIME
Booked hours run access-to-vacate. Set-up and pack-down sit inside the window — the room is returned as found and the building empty by your end time, not after it.
WHO IS IN THE BUILDING
Everyone on site is your own working party, named and expected. No public access, no footfall, no drop-in, no appointments. Maximum 25 people. Nobody is admitted who has not been authorised in advance. You are responsible for everyone you bring.
NOT A SHOP
Nothing is sold, sampled, distributed or promoted to anyone outside your working party, and the premises are not opened for trade.
FIRE AND SAFETY
Fire exits and escape routes clear at all times. No smoking, vaping or naked flames without prior written approval. Haze, smoke and fog need prior written approval — our fire detection is live and has to be isolated by us first. All electrical equipment brought in must be PAT tested.
WE ARE ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET
Amplified sound stays at working levels. Doors and windows onto Heath Street stay shut while it is running.
CONTENT
No nudity or discriminatory content — the same standards by day as in performance.
RECORDING
Audio and video for your own working purposes is fine. Cast recordings, crewed shoots and anything intended for release are a separate booking — just ask.
THE LET
Auditorium, stage and bathrooms. Back-of-house, office and box office are not included. Music licensing and performing rights for anything rehearsed or recorded are yours. Catering is not provided; external catering needs prior written approval.
Cancellation policy: Standard 30 day with Grace Period
