Relaxed space, nice food, very accommodating, very responsive! I was able to hang decorations up and share a birthday cake without any additional costs or problems. Thanks Paul and co!
I booked this pub for my husband and his best mate's joint 40th celebration, and it was fantastic! The communication with the team was great. They were super friendly to everyone and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The pub itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere and outdoor tables too. While I didn't have any food myself, I heard that some of our guests ordered pizzas and absolutely loved them. One thing to note is that the pub shuts at 11 pm, but the team went out of their way to accommodate us by booking a private area in their sister bar just a 10-minute walk away for those who wanted to continue the party. Overall, I want to say a massive thank you to the team at the George & Monkey, we had a brilliant time!
It's not so much a negative, but the toilet is in the private area, so people come and go to use them. It wasn't really a big issue for us.
Very easy to sort out an engagement drinks for 65 of us. Julija was very helpful, and made the booking process very simple. The room was lovely!
Great Space for a small or large group, very homely and well situated!
Just wish they had extra chairs for the space i'd booked, but no biggie.

Located in the neo Georgian splendour of 68 Amwell Street, The George and Monkey offers the discerning a refined watering hole with all the comforts of home. That is, of course, if your home is furnished with an exemplary gin menu, the finest of craft beer, oodles of wine, sun bathed outdoor space, attentive staff, convivial company and a roaring hot pizza oven. Mine is!
