About this space

Conversation Room & Mezzanine is an Event Space in The Royal Institution, defined by a raised mezzanine level that overlooks a single, high‑ceilinged main room.

Design: The room presents high ceilings, a deep‑colour carpet and a central fireplace, punctuated by large magenta pendant lights. The proportions are long and formal and the interior retains classical architectural detailing.

Features: The space includes a ceiling‑mounted projector and screen and an integrated PA/speaker system, plus venue Wi‑Fi and air conditioning. A flexible clear floor area allows seating or standing layouts. The room permits own music and is wheelchair accessible.

Ideal for: Small professional groups seeking a polished, presentation‑ready setting for seated discussions or standing receptions.

What guests say: The space carries architectural character and a library‑like setting, and the interiors are presented and maintained as part of the hireable room.

Really great support from the venue and amazing location. We used their recommended suppliers for catering, branding and filming and couldn't have been happier.

Only comment was that the cloakroom was a bit cramped with two events occurring at the same time, but the venue handled it well.
