We recommend hiring the First Floor of The Ri. This includes The Theatre, Ante Room, Demonstration Room, Library, Writing Room and Georgian Room.
The Ri combines historic and contemporary spaces with over 200 years of scientific heritage. We are the leading independent charity dedicated to connecting as many people as possible with the world of science.
All profits generated from venue hire are donated back to the charity. You are supporting our mission to inspire people to think more deeply about science and the role it has in our lives.

- Exclusive hire of the first floor rooms (Theatre, Library, Georgian Room, Demonstration Room & Writing Room) from 9.00am - 5.00pm
- Arrival coffee, tea, orange juice, pastries and croissants
- Mid-morning coffee, tea and biscuits
- Buffet lunch including 2 hot dishes, 2 salads, fruit or miniature desserts Or 4 bowl food

About The Royal Institution
Renowned as the home of scientific research and communication for more than 200 years, we are the proud home of 14 Nobel Prize winners as well as the discovery of 10 chemical elements. The Ri's 400 tiered seating theatre is familiar to those who watch the Ri Christmas Lectures; making it the perfect setting for conferences, lectures and film screenings.
The other rooms can also be booked for a number of different events such as conferences, press releases, dinners, receptions, board meetings, training sessions and seminars.
In-house AV and expert event catering through our partners Elior, one of the leading catering companies in Europe are all services at your disposal. Flexible, professional and complimentary tastings for all confirmed bookings are also another advantage of holding your event here at the Ri!
