About this space

The One Tun Pub & Rooms is a traditional pub that includes eight guest bedrooms, defined by its combination of lively pub spaces and on-site accommodation.

Design: The interior pairs dark wood panelling and framed portraits with tall sash windows and long wooden dining tables, allowing natural light to accent a classic pub layout.

Features: The pub operates a full bar serving beer, wine and cocktails and a kitchen that produces a small dining menu and bar snacks. The pub provides Wi‑Fi, air conditioning and a PA system, and allows hosts to play their own music. Wheelchair access is available.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, social setting for seated meals or informal standing drinks.

What sets it apart: An in-house large screen for live sports and a well-stocked jukebox provide a clear focal point for shared viewing and music.

What guests say: The venue is lively and atmospheric with a strong period-pub character. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable, though stair access is narrow and steep.

Book Launch · 60 guests · September 2025
We chose The One Tun because of its historical significance and the ambience did not disappoint. Our guests were able to mingle easily and we were able to set the room up for our book launch and have them gather around to hear the talks. Most importantly, the food was excellent and staff very helpful.
Lack of coordination behind the scenes. A few months before the event, I was asked if I had paid the £500 deposit. Then again on the night itself I was asked the same question when the bill had been paid in full months before. Communication re charges for bar/food/space and deposit needs to be tightened up.

40th Birthday Party · 60 guests · November 2024
Great service. Friendly staff. Flexible around decorations and music. Helpful with welcome drinks and food offering. Best bit was the location and the hotel rooms upstairs.

Birthday Party · 70 guests · December 2023
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous space, perfect location, faultless food, great communication beforehand. Thanks for having us!
The only downside was the music - we were aware that due to the hotel rooms upstairs, it couldn't be too loud, but we had expected it to at least be audible... Maybe our group was just too noisy! Not a big deal at all; the party was still wonderful and the team were amazing.

FAQ

Yes. As an alternative to a DJ, you can hand us a phone, tablet or laptop with your own Spotify playlist, and we would be happy to play that.

With private hire, you can choose any seating layout; the pub itself is C-shaped, with the bar in the crook of the C. You are more than welcome to pop in and have a look.
