The Green Room our speakeasy cocktail bar offers a private sanctuary away from the Regent Street crowds. The venue itself was lovely, and the staff on the day were friendly, attentive, and well-organised. The food and drinks service ran smoothly, and the setup for our wedding drinks reception looked great. Overall, the operational side of things on the day initially seemed well managed.
Unfortunately, our experience was completely overshadowed by serious safety issues. Despite being reassured that security was not needed for our private booking (80 guests on a Friday night in central London), the venue failed to provide any form of crowd control or security presence. The toilets were shared with restaurant guests, and the “green room” area was easily accessible - something we had raised concerns about beforehand. During the event, several individuals from the restaurant managed to gatecrash our private reception. When our guests politely asked them to leave, they responded with extreme violence, physically attacking multiple guests and causing serious injuries. The lack of security meant our guests were forced to act as security themselves, which is unacceptable. Casa do Frango has been given the opportunity to take responsibility for failing to provide a safe environment but has refused to do so. Our wedding night was ruined because of this. I would strongly advise against booking this venue for any private event or celebration - the safety of you and your guests cannot be guaranteed.
