About this space

The Studio & The Mix is a theatre space within Rich Mix, a flexible black-box performance area that can be configured for seated or standing layouts.

Design: The space is a compact black-box theatre dressed in dark curtains and a black-painted floor, with an exposed truss and overhead stage lighting. The ceiling is low and practical, creating an intimate performance proportion and a focused viewing plane.

Features: A fixed projection screen and a lectern are installed at the front, supported by an in-house PA system and speakers for live or recorded sound. The space includes Wi‑Fi, air conditioning and natural-light options, and hirers may use their own music. The area is wheelchair accessible and served by accessible toilets.

Ideal for: Creative groups and small organisations seeking a focused, seated or mixed-format presentation space with an intimate, performance-oriented layout.

What sets it apart: A tiered, raked seating bank that provides consistent sightlines to the performance area.

What guests say: The space is welcoming and feels like a safe environment, and the front-of-house staff are friendly and professional.
