Your wellness event, yoga class or offsite meeting will find a perfect home in this intimate space to the back of the library on the ground floor. Your visitors will have the option to enter the space through a private entrance with a dramatic Victorian staircase surrounded by period tiles.
The room features original herringbone parquet flooring, terracotta mullion windows, high ceilings and acoustic damping. Your booking includes tables, chairs and other extras, giving you tremendous flexibility.

Host rules
• The Carnegie Library Hub is within the Carnegie Library, which is a public building. Room use must remain compatible with other hub and library users.
• No smoking in the building
• Damage to the space will result in extra charge
• No dogs allowed in the library or rooms
Capacity: At no point should the hirer allow the capacity to go over the Max Capacity of the room at any point, we reserve the right to charge the hirer after the event if the proposed capacity is exceeded.
Parties:
• The Party Package is a minimum 4-hour booking, which is 1 party booking, which includes setup and clear-up time.
• Guests should not arrive at the start time or leave at the end if setup and take down is required.
• Party Packages includes cleaning the room within reason, however bin bags are provided and we ask for the hirer to bag all the rubbish into recycling and general waste, and pack away non-Hub equipment.
• Our Community Caretaker is on-hand to support with setting up and taking down for parties, which typically means setting out tables and chairs and supporting hirers with the use of the kitchenette for glasses and mugs, for example. Our Community Caretaker is not responsible for bespoke setup and take down.
• If the Community Caretaker on duty indicates that cleaning is more than scheduled, the hirer must support the caretaker in clear-up.
Party bookings start at 9-10am or 2-3pm only.
• No party bookings are available on Saturday mornings in Herne Hill Room.
• The hirer cannot arrive before the booking time.
• The package is not suitable for celebrations with loud music or into the late afternoon / evening past 7pm.
• The Party Package entitles you to bring in external equipment, and plug it in, such as a bouncy castle. The hirer is responsible for any damage as a consequence of utilising, setting up, or taking down external equipment.
Cancellation policy: Standard 30 day with Grace Period
