About this space
The Cafe at Eastway Baths is a room in Hackney Wick that hosts screenings, workshops, talks, and small events through the day and into the evening.
There is no hire fee: book the space, and food and drinks come from our counter and bar. It seats around 50 for a screening, works for workshops from 10 to 25, and stays open to the public while your event runs.
The room comes with a projector, screen, and HDMI included, plus a sound system for playback. The café and bar trade through your event, with in-house catering (buffets, pastries, and lunches from a vegetarian and vegan kitchen) and drinks packages available as add-ons. Tech support is available when your event needs it.
Used for film screenings and cinema clubs, ticketed workshops, talks and readings, small live music and DJ nights, fundraisers, art fairs, community meetings, and daytime work sessions.
The café stays open to the public during events. You can book tables, host, and sell tickets, but the room is never fully private. If you need a private room, ask us about the Sunroom or the Hall.
Step-free access via platform lift, and 8 to 10 minutes' walk from Hackney Wick Overground.
Prices
Projector, screen and HDMI are included. Tech support, catering and drinks packages are quoted on top where needed.
One thing to know: the cafe stays open to the public during events, so it is never a fully private room. Tell us the plan and we will confirm the format that fits.

Host rules
● No smoking or vaping indoors. Smoking and vaping are permitted in the garden only.
● Capacity must not be exceeded: up to 300 standing or 150 seated.
● Any damage to the space, equipment or fixtures will be charged to the hirer.
● Decorations must not be fixed to walls, ceilings or fittings in any way that causes damage. No confetti, glitter, smoke machines or pyrotechnics without prior written agreement.
● All music and amplified sound is subject to agreed finish times and venue sound limits.
● Technical requirements must be confirmed with the venue at least 7 days before the event.
● Use of in-house sound, lighting and AV is by arrangement; only venue staff or approved technicians may operate venue equipment.
● The space must be left clear of the hirer's own equipment, decorations and waste at the end of the hire.
● Access is step-free via a platform lift; please tell us about any access requirements in advance so we can prepare the space.
● Children and under-18s must be supervised at all times.
● The hirer is responsible for the conduct of their guests and suppliers throughout the booking.
