About this space

Nestled within St Anne's Church, Limehouse, the historic Crypt boasts vaulted ceilings, carpeted flooring, and exposed brickwork, rendering it a distinctive venue at the heart of Limehouse.

The Crypt is ideal for an array of events including conferences, meetings, product launches, exhibitions, presentations, parties, small-scale wedding receptions, wine tastings, and filming. Rental of The Crypt also grants access to the kitchen and toilets, which are part of the Crypt space.

Hire of the Crypt includes use of the car park for up to 16 cars, and the option of exclusive use the gated area of the church yard.

Things to note:

Please note that any bookings must be in line with our building hire policy and appropriate for a place of Christian worship.

Please note that the only toilets in the building are located in the Crypt, and they are accessed by walking through the Crypt space. Hiring the Crypt does not include exclusive use of the toilets. Bookings for the Nave space, which is on the floor above the Crypt, include essential use of the toilets in the Crypt. Therefore, if there is an event happening in the Nave at the same time as your event, guests of that event may need to walk through the Crypt space from time to time to access toilets, as well as possibly using the tap in the kitchen (also int he Crypt).

If you would like exclusive use of the entire building (Nave and Crypt), we can offer a discount on the Crypt hire rate.

Please note that a cleaning service is not normally available. The venue must be left in the state it was found, and with all furniture back in place. An additional fee may be charged to the customer for any time spent cleaning up, rearranging furniture, as well as for any breakages, etc.

Absolutely amazing event space! Held my 30th here, around 40 guests. Kitchen has everything you need to properly cook and prepare food. Plentiful glassware, plates, cutlery etc. Stunning interior. Lovely couches and foldaway tables. Carpeted floor. Choice of overhead or up lights helps control the lighting atmosphere at your own choice. Tim was lovely and very easy to coordinate with. Thank you so much for an amazing event!!

Incredible day at the most amazing venue!! I hosted my 40th birthday at the venue because I was able to create a children's area with the sofas, an eating area, a gaming area and a dance area as well as having a kitchen area that was open so that people in the kitchen could be a part of the occasion. I will hire the venue again as it is an inspiring place where you imagine hosting alsorts of events! Lots of friends and family asked how we found it and to be honest it was the best on all levels for multi-generational gatherings!! Thank you for allowing me to create memories that will last forever for myself, my friends and family.

St Anne's Limehouse is a Grade I listed building in Limehouse, Tower Hamlets. It boasts a capacity of over 300 seated and 600 standing, with multiple meeting rooms, breakout spaces and outdoor capabilities.

We have hosted weddings, galas, concerts and brand launches in our building, and are also available for booking for film and tv.
