A contemporary Portuguese restaurant in the heart of central London, by MJMK Restaurants.

The kitchen is led by Head Chef Kimberly Hernandez (formerly of Luca, and Dosa, and New York’s Chef’s Table), with the creative input of celebrated Portuguese chef and consultant Leandro ‘Leo’ Carreira. Together they deliver a menu that showcases the diverse flavours of the Iberian coastline and rural Portugal.

Interiors have been thoughtfully reimagined. Red limestone tabletops and warm wood furnishings create an inviting, homely atmosphere. In the dining room, a series of prints capture bream, sea bass, and kelp – dishes central to the menu – through ‘Gyotaku’, the traditional Japanese artform in which ink is applied directly to a fish before being pressed onto rice paper. Upstairs, the walls are lined with ethnographic photography by Artur Pastor, whose evocative images celebrate the raw beauty and distinct character of Portugal’s coastline.

Luso has 90-covers, with the ground floor now converted to a dining area. A private dining room - named The Adega - seats 6 to 12 guests, overlooking its own wine cellar. The restaurant is open for lunch Tuesday to Saturday and dinner Monday to Saturday.
