Excellent staff on the day with Steven Lewis incredibly helpful and professional in their approach

Better communication before the event and prompt replies to My emails would of made the ordering process a bit easier.

The food was delicious and Martha's Bar was a really lovely location for our engagement party. We had about 25 - 30 guests and this was a good amount for the size of the room to fit everyone comfortably. Our bartender on the night was kind, helpful and welcoming.

Th organisation and overall service on the evening was disappointing. We had spent a lot of time over and back with the venue manager by email in the weeks leading up to the event ensuring everything was clear and organised. We had pre-ordered finger food and bottles of Prosecco for our guests. The timings for food had been discussed in the lead up and particular timings were advised by the venue manager which we considered. Both pre-ordered items were served late, and myself and my partner had to chase both of these things up which was an added stress on the evening that we did not need. We also had to move the plates of food from one table to all the others as they were being served on the smallest table that was closest to the entrance of the room. There were over 30 plates in total. This was far from what we expected. There was no bartender in the bar when we arrived considering we had booked the venue from 6pm and arrived shortly before 7pm. There was also a staff member eating their dinner in the function room (Martha's Bar) as we arrived with some of our guests. As we had booked over the Christmas period, there was a delay in the venue manager getting back to our queries. Whilst this is understandable, it was quite frustrating that whenever we tried to call to discuss anything, no other member of staff was able to speak with us about our event. We called the venue 5 days in a row whilst waiting for an email reply to see if we could get an answer over the phone but the venue manager was not available at the times we had called and we were asked to call back later.

The venue was very flexible, and they were happy to handle requests that we had. Bartender on the night was really good, making everyone’s drinks and helping out with music, cake etc.

Food was good but some of the food options (like calamari) were only average. Apart from that, not much else to dislike!
