Spaces for hire at The Calder Theatre Bookshop

from £12
hire fee / per hour
Theatre
Seating capacity 24
This is a room with a 15 square metre stage and 24 seats once belonging to the Palladium. NB This space is only ever rented out for rehearsals and castings/auditions, meetings etc, never for performance. It's separated from the bookshop by a curtain so if you want total silence and privacy you need the basement space which you can also see on this...

The Basement
Seating capacity 15
Standing capacity 15
The basement is a 32 sq metre/350 sq ft room. It's quiet and private with an excellent upright piano (£2 extra per hour), a long mirror on one wall, lots of light (all artificial), wifi and many chairs and tables. NB there is no natural light and the ceiling is low, 7ft, so it has its limitations.

Very easily accessible and good price for the whole day !

The room was separated by a curtain so it was not as private as we would like it to have been but not a major issue!

All good - this is a basement space as can be seen in the pictures. All was good, swift check-in & payment, nice stuff, quiet and peace of mind to work when you’re downstairs. Very central & good price!

No complains.

We hired the room behind the bookshop itself, where occassionally you're likely to hear the footsteps of those in the bookshop - that aside, the location is value for money

No negatives

About The Calder Theatre Bookshop

We are very central, a 2 minute walk from Waterloo station. It's not glamorous like some other places but in comparison it's inexpensive. So it's cheap and it's central, also we just charge one flat rate whether you want the theatre space or the basement, there's no sliding scale, it's all transparent. And you can book for just one hour if you want, there's no minimum.
