About this space

Matilda's Basement Bar is a Basement in My Neighbours The Dumplings, distinguished by a low-ceilinged, intimate interior centred on a neon-lit bar.

Design: The room has dark timber floors, a mix of small tables and vintage chairs, and low ceilings that create a compact, theatre-like feel under warm, low-level lighting.

Features: The space includes a long bar counter with shelving and glassware suitable for drink service and a mix of movable tables and chairs for flexible layouts. Air conditioning is installed and noise restrictions apply during hire.

Ideal for: Small social groups seeking a relaxed, informal standing reception or a cosy, seated drinks gathering in an intimate setting.

What sets it apart: An in-house PA and permission to bring a DJ allow hosts to play their own music for private events.

What guests say: The space is atmospheric and transportive, creating a strong sense of occasion. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is consistently relaxed and sociable.
