Private Lounge at Mare Street Market King's Cross

I hired the private lounge at Mare Street Market King’s Cross for my 40th birthday on a Saturday, and overall it was a fantastic choice for a relaxed but stylish celebration. The space itself is a real highlight. The lounge feels properly private, with its own bar and a mix of sofas and armchairs that make it feel more like a laid-back living room than a formal venue. It worked perfectly for a social event where people could mingle easily without being tied to a table. It comfortably handled a large group without ever feeling cramped, which was ideal. One feature that really elevated the night was the built-in screen and sound system. I was able to share my own content on the screen, which added a really personal touch, and also play my own playlist through the sound system. It gave me full control over the atmosphere and made the whole event feel much more tailored and memorable. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot Mare Street Market is known for. It feels like an “occasion” venue without being over the top, which suited the vibe I was going for. Food and drinks were great, and having a private bar in the room made a big difference in keeping things flowing smoothly throughout the evening. A special mention to Danni, Julian and Bessim, who were amazing on the night- friendly, attentive, and really helped everything run seamlessly. Their presence made a big impact on the overall experience. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat—right by King’s Cross, making it incredibly easy for guests to get to from across London and beyond. Overall: A brilliant option for a private party if you’re after a relaxed, sociable atmosphere in a great-looking space. The venue and team on the night really delivered, and I’d definitely consider it again for future events.

Everything. The staff were absolutely 100/10 fantastic. It was a surprise birthday party for my mum and it went so smoothly. The canapés were yummy, the drinks options were great. They had microphones for speeches and a to screen to play videos. The staff were always on hand to help and it was the most perfect evening.

We recently hosted a 50th birthday celebration here and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The venue itself was perfect for the occasion, but what really made the night special was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, and their professionalism made the whole evening completely stress-free. We had an amazing time and couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough for a special celebration.

The venue and the evening itself were great, but its been several weeks since the event and they haven't settled a refund they said they would process. They are now no longer responding to my emails and it seems very unprofessional.
