About this space

About Captains Quarters:
A hidden private room at the rear of Rhum Tavern, accessed through a working bookshelf
door. Up to 80 guests. Margaret Street, W1W 8SE - 4 minutes from Oxford Circus
(Elizabeth, Central and Bakerloo lines).

The bookshelf sits flush with the back wall of the bar. From the front of house, there is no
door. Guests who haven't been before tend to look confused until someone opens it.
Inside: lantern lighting, candlelit tables, wood-panelled walls and a private bar. Fully
separated from the main bar by the bookshelf door - no sound bleed, no shared space.

The room seats 40 for dinner and holds 80 standing, with its own AV, DJ booth and bar service
throughout.

AV: 65" screen, projector and screen, sound system, microphone, USB-C music input, DJ

Minimum spend: from £1,500. Runs as a bar tab on the night - no room hire fee on top. Food
and pre-ordered drinks settled one week prior.

Signature cocktails: Dead Man Tells No Tales (served in a skull), Daiquiri, Mojito. Rum menu
includes 300 specialty rums. We also serve beer (draft and bottle) wine, prosecco, champagne and all spirits and mixers.

Well suited to birthday parties, corporate team socials, client dinners and smaller product
launches. No minimum numbers. Late license to 1am available on Fridays and Saturdays.
For the full venue or groups over 80, Exclusive Hire accommodates up to 150 guests from
£6,000.

Host rules

On confirmation of the booking 50% deposit of the minimum spend, will be retained.
• Within 14 working days 100% of the minimum spend, will be retained.
• Minimum spends can be spent on both food and drinks during the time of the event. Should
the minimum spend not be hit the remaining balance will be charged as a hire fee.
• We can also offer a selection of entertainment which would be charged outside of the
minimum spend.
• Deposits are 75% re-fundable 30 days from event, after 30 days deposits are non refundable.
• All Minimum Spends are inclusive of VAT 20% & Service 12.5%.

Very helpful staff with a lovely attitude. The venue is so atmospheric and magical, and felt so real. It has proper heart and soul and was obviously a passion project built with specialist knowledge and love! They were very accommodating, we had a private little bar in the Captain’s Quarters. Was great having the place from 6pm - 2am. No stress of having to find somewhere else to go afterwards with stragglers! Location is amazing, had lots of people travelling from all over so that was great.
The food menue was a bit limited for vegetarians. The full range of cocktails / draft beer wasn’t available for my guests as we only had a small bar with one member of bar staff.

This year we had our Christmas party at the Rhum Tavern with over 40 people. It was the best Christmas party we ever had! The place is great, warm atmosphere; the theme is fantastic, from the 80's movie Goonies. Friendly staff. Amazing cocktails. We got festive finger foods and it was beautifully set up. Perfect location! We couldn't have asked for more. Amber and Rhys made our night special and everything was exactly as we had imagined! Thanks to Gabriel too! :) We were able to play our own music which made the night even more fun. The private space was big enough for all of us and we were comfortable and danced the night away. 5* Rhum Tavern!
