Whole Venue at San Mei Gallery
About this space
Our space features 100sqm of beautiful light-filled open plan space. It is equipped with museum-quality lighting - although the natural light is so good you that probably won’t need it- and has beautiful wooden floors. We can provide 4 x trestle tables, 2 x 5ft round tables and 30 (or 20 matching) chairs for your event and additional furniture can be hired for an extra cost if your event requires it. There is a grand piano in the space and we can provide audio-visual equipment including an HD CCTV system for live streaming, a projector and Wi-Fi access.
The space can be hired at 3+ hours at a time around our opening times of 12-6pm, Wed-Sat and in between exhibitions. Please get in touch We can accommodate around 30 people for sit down training events and board meetings, and between 30 - 50 people for rehearsals and standing networking events. For evening events there is a professional kitchen that can be hired by events planners with professional caterers at an additional cost for finishing meals.

If there is anything in that you don't see in then hire list but think you might need, we will try our best to hire it in at for an extra cost.
We also operate as a working gallery, please be aware that your event may take place within the current exhibition.
A cleaning fee of £36+vat will be added to your bill.

Host rules
Hirers are required to pay £200.00 as a security deposit at the point of booking. This deposit will be returned within 5 working days after the hire provided that there are no losses or damages to the hire space
The full hire fee must be paid 4 weeks before the hire date unless otherwise agreed with San Mei Space
In the event of the hirer cancelling up to 15 days before the event, San Mei will make refund the hire fee but retain the security deposit. If the event is cancelled within 14 days of the agreed date San Mei will retain the full hire fee
In the unlikely event that San Mei need to cancel the booking the security deposit and any hire fee paid will be returned in full to the hirer
The hirer must provide San Mei with details of the event and activities taking place within the hire time, an estimate of the number of people attending and information about any additional equipment being used.
Hirers will need to sign the Space Hire Agreement form and return this to San Mei within four weeks of the hire date
The Gallery is to be locked and secure when left unattended
Set up and clean up for events and usage must take part within the agreed hire times
Hirers are expected to leave the space in the state they found it in. If additional cleaning is necessary the cost of this will be taken out of the security deposit.
Hirers must consider the use or protection of the grand piano in the space. Nothing may be placed on the piano.
San Mei Space is in the same building as an education office, and café with residential flats above. For this reason, space hirers must take into account the requirement for minimal disruption
San Mei Space is not responsible for any damages or other costs arising out of or in connection with any damage to any property or any injury caused to any person caused by Hirer’s use of the Space. We recommend that Hirers arrange their own public liability insurance to cover the event.
Cancellation policy: Standard 60 day with Grace Period
About San Mei Gallery
A beautiful light-filled building in the what was the old Loughborough Hotel. Situated in the heart of Lambeth, it's close to Loughborough Junction Train and Oval Tube Stations with easy access to a number of bus routes. It's the perfect place to host training sessions, meetings, rehearsals, networking days, and other events. Income from San Mei Space hire enables our gallery to support emerging artists and not-for-profit events, so there is the added bonus of knowing that when you hire from us, you're helping the local creative community.
It uns as a gallery and holds a collection of contemporary artworks that can be installed for your meeting or event at no extra cost.
