Good sized venue for 50 people, and nicely decorated inside. Time taken to make drinks was good and they had 2 bar staff working which was enough. Sound quality for the music was good and let us use our own Spotify playlist. The bar staff employee was nice but the owner/manager was not, see dislikes below).
Service was unprofessional from the owner and several of my guests commented that they received rude treatment. We ordered 7 bottles as a welcome drink and they did not pour all of these out. We ended up having to pour them ourselves. When our guests tried to take the glasses that were poured out, they were told off for doing so even though we had told the staff that this was a welcome drink for all our guests. I understand that while some of the guests were unaware that they were not allowed to take drinks outside, the staff were really rude about it and could have been nicer and more professional about it. We cannot be expected to tell all of our guests the rules of the bar - maybe signage could have been used instead. One guest asked if he could get a spiced rum and coke and was met with a snarky comment as they were a rum bar. Didn't give any recommendations and just looked down on the guest for not knowing what rum to pick. When we chose our own drinks (even from standard drinks from the menu such as the blue mountain), the owner made comments about how the drink made was rubbish, despite then giving still serving it (why not make it again?). It was a great evening but this was ruined by how our guests were treated. Communication could have been better, we weren't sure if the venue was even booked as we had trouble trying to get the deposit paid. Despite several emails and calls to the venue, voicemails and email were not responded to for several weeks leaving us worried about the booking being confirmed. It did get better closer to the date however. Also, there were no garnishes for the drinks, no fruit for pina colada. The margarita (while not a rum based drink), they could have put effort into serving with a salt rim, daquiri with a sugar rim. A lot of the photos show different glasses being used and lemon garnishes etc. but here there was no effort put in at all. Ordering another of the same drink later, they tend to taste a lot different.
