About this space

The House is a studio theatre in Seven Dials Playhouse; its defining quality is a flexible black-box layout that adapts to different staging configurations.

Design: The House has black-painted walls, a dark performance floor and an exposed lighting grid. The interior includes a single bank of burgundy upholstered, stepped seating and otherwise unadorned, technical finishes that focus attention on the playing area.

Features: A built-in PA system and stage lighting control support technical presentations. The room includes Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, permission for own music and a BYO DJ option, and operates under a venue noise restriction. The space is wheelchair accessible and features accessible toilets and a step‑free guest entrance.

Ideal for: Small creative companies and rehearsal groups seeking a compact, technically equipped studio for seated or flexibly staged work.

What guests say: The space provides consistently clear views and a close, personal stage experience. The space has welcoming front‑of‑house staff and an intimate, compact character that keeps attention on the performance.

Really helpful/friendly staff and easy venue to use. Made to feel welcome which was appreciated.
Toilets. They are a bit dingy. And they were not properly gender neutral, just a note on the door. A urinal is not gender neutral. only this that stopped the final star! Food was a bit kids party food but it was there on time and was enough for the students.
