About this space

Edmond J Safra Fountain Court is a semi-private outdoor courtyard in Somerset House defined by a large, open paved court that serves as the venue's main outdoor event area.

Design: The courtyard presents a broad, level stone surface under open sky and is bounded by classical stone façades and regular arched windows; the overall impression is formal, unplanted and architecturally focused.

Features: The space provides venue Wi‑Fi, abundant natural daylight and step‑free access for wheelchair users. The hard, even paving accepts freestanding furniture and temporary structures, allowing flexible layouts.

Ideal for: Event organisers seeking an expansive, flexible outdoor setting for open‑plan, standing-focused gatherings and public displays.

What guests say: The Fountain Court regularly hosts high-profile photography exhibitions. The courtyard provides broad sightlines that reviewers reference when describing visits.
