The Colonnade at Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery
About this space
The Colonnade is a semi-private outdoor space at Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery characterised by its neoclassical architectural character.
Design: Symmetrical pale stone columns stand beneath a timber pitched ceiling over a smooth stone floor, forming a proportioned, sheltered axis that admits ample natural light and frames clear sightlines to the building.
Features: A covered, open-sided walkway provides sheltered outdoor space directly adjacent to the manor building. Smooth stone paving provides level underfoot, and a doorway links the colonnade to interior rooms. Permission for own music is available. The area is naturally lit.
Ideal for: The space suits intimate, relaxed standing receptions or short pre-event gatherings that need a sheltered outdoor backdrop with easy access into interior spaces.
What sets it apart: Direct access connects the colonnade to the manor's historic garden, where original Soane-era landscaping preserves a countryside-like character within the estate.
What guests say: The outdoor spaces retain an original, countryside-like character despite the urban setting. The manor's restored architecture enhances the sense of light and colour in the surrounding grounds.
