From an intimate garden party to marquee events our beautifully landscaped gardens provide a peaceful retreat with the stunning architecture of our Soane Gallery as the perfect backdrop, come rain or shine anything is possible with us at Londons oldest Gallery.
From fetes to festivals, weddings to corporate away days and charity fundraisers, the Galleries gardens have seen it all.
The grounds can be hired for exclusive and private use.
Included in our gardens is a private Meadow that is available to hire throughout the day. A completely hidden space that sits on just under an acre of land adjacent to the Gallery and Gardens. It is perfect for a more private summer time Wedding, corporate away days or family fetes.
Each event at DPG is unique and we aim to guide you toward a more personalised service via our hands on Events Team who will be more than happy to help and guide you through the day.
Pleas note that the grounds have sound limitations to acoustic music only until 6pm.

Package per person
One of our most popular includes the Ceremony and the Reception which is our Rubens Package .
Rubens Package:
Ceremony in the Soane Gallery for up to 120 people from 6pm (With Supplier access from 5pm)
Drinks reception on the lawn in our beautiful grounds
Wedding breakfast back in the Soane Gallery and then
Dancing and drinks until midnight in our Linbury Room (Capacity of 120 people)
Wedding Offers
Choose between our main gardens, which give you Sir John Soane’s architecture as a stunning backdrop, or opt for our private meadow, which provides a more secluded option and is perfect for those earlier evening or daytime weddings.
Marquee options: The main gardens can accommodate marquees for up to 200 guests. The meadow for up to 400 guests, subject to a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) and Southwark Council approval
Wedding Breakfast or Reception - up to 400 guests
• 1pm – Arrival at Dulwich Picture Gallery after your Ceremony at an external venue of your choice
• Drinks and Canapés on the secluded meadow lawn in front of your Marquee
• The Marquee for dinner and dancing until 9pm
• Venue Hire – £3,500 + vat
Added extra:
• 6–7pm – A Private View in the Soane
• Gallery for your guests and a wedding photo opportunity
• Total venue Hire – £4,500 + vat
Wedding Breakfast - up to 200 guests; Reception - up to 400 guests
•4pm – Arrival at Dulwich Picture Gallery after your Ceremony at an external venue of your choice
•Drinks and Canapés on the gallery lawn in front of your Marquee
•The Marquee for dinner & dancing until 11pm
• Venue Hire – £3,500 + vat
Added extra:

As the first purpose-built public Gallery, DPG's grade II listed status prevents us from allowing dry-hire in the majority of venues to protect the priceless works and historical status of the space.
As each wedding at Dulwich Picture Gallery is arranged on a bespoke basis to your exact requirements, all costs for catering, marquee hire, entertainment and flowers would be on top of the venue hire and need to be arranged through our list of approved suppliers who know and have previous experience with the Gallery , all of whom can be found at the back of our brochure.
As a listed building housing rare and priceless artworks we tend to only work with our own approved list of suppliers because of their experience with the gallery and insurances through our tender process. Feel free to contact any of the recommended suppliers for initial quotes or recommendations to make your day as special as you can for you both.

About Dulwich Picture Gallery
Dulwich Picture Gallery is the oldest purpose-built art gallery in England: it was founded in 1811 when Sir Francis Bourgeois bequeathed his collection of old master paintings ‘for the inspection of the public’.
The Gallery was designed by the architect, Sir John Soane and was created to display the paintings in the best possible manner. Soane’s design made use of overhead skylights to flood the gallery with natural light and a series of interconnecting rooms to give the impression of endless space.
Dulwich Picture Gallery is situated in the leafy Dulwich Village and is an easy 15 minute journey from central London by train.
