About this space

Council Chamber, a hall within Wac Arts, is a historic civic chamber defined by high decorative ceilings and preserved period architectural details.

Design: The interior shows tall windows dressed with heavy curtains, ornate cornicing and pendant lights above a clear timber floor. The proportions are formal and upright, giving the room a structured, civic character.

Features: An open floor area with timber flooring and movable seating that can be arranged for performances, meetings or presentations. The room benefits from natural daylight, venue Wi‑Fi, and hirers may play their own music.

Ideal for: Community groups and small performance ensembles seeking a formal yet flexible chamber for seated presentations, rehearsals or relaxed social gatherings.

What guests say: The Council Chamber is well maintained and clean while retaining character. The space is welcoming and supported by helpful, responsive staff.
