Wine Cellar at Franco's
About this space
Franco’s may be traditional, but let’s not mistake that for outdated. The private dining rooms have been thoughtfully updated. A recent refurbishment completed in early 2023 by Conrad Alexander Design has brought a modern refresh — plush light green and red seats nod to the Italian flag, oak-framed Art Deco glass partitions, scenic 17th-century Italian countryside etchings on canvas, mirrored antique panelling, and brass lighting fixtures give the space both character and sophistication

About Franco's
Franco’s is a timeless Italian restaurant, unpretentious yet elegantly maintained, nestled on Jermyn Street in St James’s since 1945—even one of London’s oldest Italian establishments.
Franco’s is open from breakfast to dinner and boasts an all day bar and a heated terrace that locals and visitors crowd, especially in warmer months.
Inside, the décor is tasteful and dignified, with white tablecloths, classic black and white photography, studded banquette seating, and floral wallpaper. The atmosphere can shift from quietly intimate in the basement to slightly livelier up front, especially when the terrace is filled.
Menu wise, the kitchen under head chef Stefano Turconi handles traditional Italian with confidence, nothing fussy, everything done well. Lobster linguine, veal and beef lasagne, hearty soups, fresh pasta, seasonal specials and dishes with truffle when in season. The offerings extend across the day too, from a reliable Full English and pre theatre menus to set lunches, a la carte dinners, plus vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
The wine list leans proudly Italian, with strong Barolo and Barbaresco selections, rosé specials, cocktails (including a negroni list), digestifs, grappa, and after dinner drinks.
Franco’s is reliable, charming and offers culinary comfort rarely overpromised, never underdelivered.
