NYC Photo & Soundstage Studio at Contra Studios
About this space
Beautiful and bright 5,000 sqft photography/soundstage located in the heart of Chelsea. We offer clients two studios on a private floor both with two cyc wall studios divided by a 2,000 sqft common area. Whether you need both studios or just one, the facility will be private to you for the day. Key code entry to the building with no lobby attendant assures discretion for celebrity talent.
Bookings include grip, lighting, and props.
Studio B
A two-corner, prelit cyclorama soundstage with a white brick shooting area on the opposite side of the stage. A full grid, with (3) Arri s60 Skypanels lights the cyc. The stage is typically white but can be chroma-green or painted as needed.
Studio A
A one corner cyclorama studio with daylight option (black-out blinds), and full grid. Often used for fashion photography but can also be used to shoot video content, still life, and product shots.
Studio A can also be used for talent holding, production space, or wardrobe while shooting in B

Prices
We currently only offer half day rates / full day
Studio B soundstage: $1,950 for a 10 hr day (OT Rates $175 per hr)
Studio A photo / video room: $1,750 for a 10 hr day (OT Rates $175 per hr)
Full Floor (Studios A + B): $2,500 per 10 hr day (OT Rates are $250 an hr
Half Day Rates:
Studio A or Studio B: $1,350 per 5 hr day
Full Floor (Studios A + B): $1,750
For shoots with a start time prior to 7 a.m. incurs $100 fee / prior to 6 a.m. / $250 fee
For shoots with over 30 people on set, there's a $200 cleaning fee
The facility will generally be private to you for the day (one client per day policy). Rate includes full grip equipment, Profoto strobe lighting and (3) Arri s60 Skypanels
Rate Sheet Events:
Event rates depend on the number of people, the hours, and if and how alcohol is served, and the day of the week. Typically a 70 person event on saturday would be around $550 per hour / $650 per hour on a Saturday night / 5 hr minimum
